IN THIS MODULE:

During this module we will be exploring how we can protect our crops against weeds, pests and disease. We will start by identifying the different threats to our crops and the effects that they can have. We will learn how to evaluate the presence and severity of pests and disease and we will look into how to create sustainable protection and control strategies. We will also learn how to safely use and store pesticides. 

AFTER THIS MODULE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

  • Identify a range of crop pests and disease problems
  • Understand the effect of crop pests and disease on production
  • Effectively protect your crops and evaluate the presence and severity of pests and disease
  • Create a sustainable protection and control protocol for specific weeds, pests and diseases
  • Use the appropriate method and recommended application rate of pesticides
  • Use pesticides safely
  • Store pesticides correctly
